Applicants are expected to show a portfolio of work to current members at the AGM or other specified date and will need to gain approval of at least 40% of the members, who will vote in a secret ballot. Lobbying is frowned upon.
Applicants voted for by 40% - 50% of members will be offered Associate Membership for a period of two years after which members will decide by the same democratic process whether to offer them Full Membership.
The annual subscription (payable by standing order) for Associates Membership is £45 and includes entry to two exhibitions per year. Two pieces of work for display and two unframed 'trough' items may be submitted at each exhibition, all of which are vetted by the curators and there is no guarantee that any will be included.
Please note Associates Members are not entitled to vote.
Applicants receiving 50% or more votes will be offered Full Membership. Full Members are expected to be fully involved in the running of the Society, are able to vote and are expected to serve on the Committee as required.
The annual subscription (payable by standing order) for Full Members is £75 and includes entry to two exhibitions per year.
